Carbon Dioxide Adsorption on Carbon Nanofibers with Different Porous Structures

چکیده

Electrospinning techniques have become an efficient way to produce continuous and porous carbon nanofibers. In view of CO2 capture as one the important works for alleviating global warming, this study intended synthesize polyacrylonitrile (PAN)-based activated nanofibers (ACNFs) using electrospinning processes capture. Different structures PAN-based ACNFs were prepared, including solid, hollow, nanofibers, where poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) was selected sacrificing core or pore generator. The results showed that PMMA could be removed successfully at a carbonization temperature 900 °C, forming hollow ACNFs. diameters ranged from 500 nm, shell thickness approximately 70–110 nm. solid microporous materials, while characterized by hierarchical structures. possessed higher specific surface areas than ACNFs, exhibited highest microporosity (94%). adsorption capacity on highly dependent ratio V<0.7 nm Vt, Vmi N-containing functional groups. breakthrough curves curve-fitted well with Yoon Nelson model. Furthermore, 10 cyclic tests demonstrated are promising adsorbents.

Investigation of Carbon Dioxide Adsorption on Amino-Functionalized Mesoporous Silica

Carbon dioxide (CO2) adsorption on unfunctionalized and amino-functionalized SBA-3 materials are investigated and compared in this study. The synthesized materials are characterized by various techniques such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), Brunauer-Emmet-Teller (BET) method, Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) and Scanning electron microscopy (SEM).The isotherms of these materials have been measure...

Nitrogen and carbon dioxide adsorption by soils.

High-resolution nitrogen (77 K) and carbon dioxide (273 K) adsorption at subatmospheric pressures has been studied for a range of model soils of various origins with different organic matter (OM) contents. It is demonstrated that N2 and CO2 molecules probe different regions of soil particles. Nitrogen is adsorbed primarily on the outer surface of soil particles, while CO2 has a higher affinity ...

Advances in principal factors influencing carbon dioxide adsorption on zeolites.

We report the advances in the principal structural and experimental factors that might influence the carbon dioxide (CO2) adsorption on natural and synthetic zeolites. The CO2 adsorption is principally govern by the inclusion of exchangeable cations (countercations) within the cavities of zeolites, which induce basicity and an electric field, two key parameters for CO2 adsorption. More specific...
